Bid Opening #2-2009 Sale of Surplus Highway Equipment

Supervisor Markou opened the bid meeting and asked the Clerk to read the notice:
NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Sealed proposals are being sought by the Town of Catskill for sale of surplus highway equipment, specifically, a 1995 GMC 1 ton dump truck with the minimum bid being $1,500.00. This item can be viewed at the Town of Catskill Highway Garage, Cauterskill Avenue, Catskill, NY between the hours of 7 am and 3 pm Monday through Friday. The aforementioned sealed proposal will be received by the Town Clerk, 439 Main St., Catskill, NY 12414 until 4:00 pm on Wednesday, May 20th and bids will be opened the same day at 6:00 pm. Proposals must be in a sealed envelope with the name of the bidder placed on the outside of the envelope. The Town of Catskill reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

Supervisor Markou opened the three (3) bids received. The bids received were the following:
1. Donald Alger, $876.51
2. Barry Carr, $2100.00
3. Paul Omerod $700.00
Councilman O’Connor asked for a motion to accept the bid from Barry Carr. Councilman Antonelli stated we should only accept cash or a certified check. Councilman Walsh concurred.
RESOLUTION # 64-2009 TO ACCEPT BID FOR SALE OF
SURPLUS HIGHWAY EQUIPMENT
Councilman O’Connor presented the following for adoption and consideration,
WHEREAS, the Town of Catskill solicited bids for the sale of a 1995 GMC One ton dump truck, and
WHEREAS, three bids were received,
1. Donald Alger $876.51
2. Barry Carr $2100.00
3. Paul Omerod $700.00, and
WHEREAS, the method of payment needs to be in the form of a certified check or cash, so
THEREFORE WE, the Catskill Town Board hereby accept the bid from Barry Carr in the amount of $2100.00.
Councilman Walsh seconded this motion.
Ayes 4, Nays, 0 Absent 1 (C. Smith) Motion Carried
With no further business Councilman Antonelli made a motion to close the bid opening and Councilman Walsh seconded.
Bid Opening ended at 6:04 pm.
