Supervisor Markou called the meeting to order and opened with a moment of silent prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.
Motion made by Councilman O’Connor and seconded by Councilman Walsh to accept the salaries of the following as set forth in the 2008 Budget:
Supervisor, $11,970.00
Town Clerk, $30,093.00
Town Justice, (2) each $20,208.50 $40,417.00
Councilman, (4) each $5,040.75 $20,163.00
Highway Superintendent, $47,572.00
Receiver of Taxes, $13,835.00
Comptroller, $41,500.00
Code Enforcement Officer, $37,956.00
Assessor, $42,000.00

Motion made by Councilman Antonelli and seconded by Councilman Walsh to designate the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm as the official Town Board Meeting.

Motion made by Councilman Antonelli and seconded by Councilman Walsh to authorize the Town Clerk, in the presence of the Comptroller, to use the Supervisor’s stamp, as so directed by the Town Supervisor.

Motion made by Councilman Antonelli and seconded by Councilman Walsh to designate the Catskill Daily Mail and the Daily Freeman as the official newspaper for the Town of Catskill and to designate the Catskill Daily Mail as the one official newspaper to publish the Supervisor’s report and other legal Town notices as necessary.

Motion made by Councilman Antonelli and seconded by Councilman O’Connor to carry any unexpended 2007 balances into the 2008 budget, unless so designated otherwise by Town Board resolution.

Motion made by Councilman Antonelli and seconded by Councilman Walsh that the firm of Pattison, Koskey, Howe and Bucci be designated as the accountants for the Town of Catskill.

Motion made by Councilman Antonelli and seconded by Councilman O’Connor that the Town Board authorizes payment of all utility bills pursuant to Section 118 of the Town Law without voucher.

Motion made by Councilman Antonelli and seconded by Councilman Walsh to authorize Town Officials to be paid the rate of 50.5 cents per mile for personal vehicle use.

The Catskill Town Clerk, Elizabeth C. Izzo, has appointed Kim Leggio and Florence M. Fielman as Deputy Clerks and Deputy Registrar for the Town of Catskill for the year 2008.
Motion made by Councilman Antonelli and seconded by Councilman O’Connor to appoint James M. Wagman as Town Attorney for a (1) one year term commencing January 1st, 2008.

At the Town Board Meeting a resolution was passed that the annual salary for James Wagman be $7,500.00. See resolution #

Motion made by Councilman Antonelli and seconded by Councilman O’Connor that the appointment of Health Officer, Dr. Mark Schilansky be tabled until the January 16th Committee Meeting.

Motion made by Councilman Antonelli and seconded by Councilman Walsh to appoint Don Fetty as Animal Control Officer for a two year term commencing January 1, 2008.

Motion made by Councilman Antonelli and seconded by Councilman O’Connor to appoint Marjorie Garafalo as Zoning Board Chair and Regina Daly as Zoning Board Vice-Chair for the year 2008.

Motion made by Councilman Antonelli and seconded by Councilman Walsh to appoint Daniel Howard as Planning Board Chair and Peter Gustas as Planning Board Vice-Chair for the year 2008. The Planning Board will be meeting twice monthly, as needed, starting January 2008.

The Town of Catskill Town Justices have appointed Shelly Cardinale as Justice Clerk for a one (1) year term commencing January 1, 2008.

The Town of Catskill Receiver of Taxes has appointed Jane Freese, Deputy Tax Receiver, for a one (1) year term commencing January 1, 2008.

authorizing the Town Highway Superintendent to purchase, without prior Board approval, tools and/or equipment with a value of $3,000.00 or less.

Motion made by Councilman Antonelli and seconded by Councilman O’Connor to appoint Stanley Dushane as Cemetery Custodian to a two (2) year term commencing January 1, 2008.

Motion made by Councilman Antonelli and seconded by Councilman Walsh and O’Connor to appoint Sandy Misevcis as Comptroller to a two (2) year term commencing January 1, 2008.

Motion made by Councilman Antonelli and seconded by Councilman Walsh that the Highway Superintendent accept State and County bids for sand, fuel, salt, washed stone, plant mix, pipe transit mix, concrete, tubes, and tires whenever possible.
