Supervisor Markou opened the meeting and asked the Clerk to read the notice of the public hearing.
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
To all residents of the Town of Catskill: Public Hearing #9-2008 will be held by the Catskill Town Board on April 1, 2008 at 6:00 pm at the Washington Irving Senior Center to hear comments and concerns regarding repealing Local Law #1-1988 and replacing with proposed Local Law #4-2008: Flood Damage Prevention.

Supervisor Markou gave a brief background about this local law. FEMA and DEC had issued new flood maps and with that asked us to repeal our existing law and replace with this new law that will allow people to require flood insurance if necessary if for them to do that. If this law isn’t passed than we are not allowed aid from FEMA.
Supervisor Markou asked for comment. With no comment a motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Councilman Antonelli and seconded by Councilman Walsh. The meeting ended at 6:02 pm.
