Five Mile Woods Seasonal Dumping
The old Dump On Five Mile Woods road will be opening on Saturday, April 8, 2006 until further notice to receive leaves and small brush from 7:00am to 3:00pm. The Dump is open Saturdays Only. All Town and Village of Catskill residents welcomed. Please bring Identification with you.
Private Roads Signs
Green and white street signs may be purchased through the Town of Catskill Highway Department Office at nominal cost, plus shipping charges. We will supply the post and install your sign free of charge. They are made per order and take approximately two weeks to arrive.
Putting in a New Driveway?
It is important that you call Alfred Beers, the Highway Superintendent, before you put your driveway in. It needs to be inspected to determine if you require a culvert pipe. The Highway Department will install your culvert pipe, but the property owner is responsible for the purchase of the culvert pipe.

You may download a copy of our Minimum Road Specifications if you plan to request that the Town take over road maintenance of a private roadway. These road specifications must be followed as dictated and all work must be inspected by the Highway Superintendent before any approvals may be considered.
Winter Safety Note
When planting shrubbery, trees, fences, rocks, mailboxes, and/or newspaper boxes, it is very important to consider how far away from the road edge you put them. In the winter time our snow plows push back the snow and for the safety of your items and the safety of our plows please keep these items out of harms way. If you are unsure of the distance please call our office, we would be happy to come out and help determine the distance for you, as different roads have more or less distance than others.
