This is not a huge requirement when the alternative could be losing a loved one in a fire. We spend time doing plan reviews because we want to make sure that your new construction will not collapse if there is a heavy snow on the roof, a high wind gust, or an
earthquake tremor in the area. Why do we cite you for violations? New York State and the Town of Catskill has setforth laws that mandate minimum standards for property and fire maintenace. Landlords need to furnish heat, water, sanitary disposal, smoke detectors and other life safety requirements for their tenants. Swimming pools without fences will not be tolerated. Not only your family, but other individuals could drown. Single family dwelling property owners have a responsibility to the community to keep their yards neat and clean. Unregistered vehicles, junk and debris lower neighboring property values and effect everyone around you. Take pride in your property and make Catskill an enjoyable place to live for everyone.
